Mobile County Lookup Record Map
A resident lookup should answer one clear question at a time. The Mobile County Revenue Commission connects a taxpayer name to a parcel, while Probate Court records connect parties to deeds, marriages, estates, and wills. Trial-court matters belong to the Circuit or District Court system. Alabama agencies hold voter and vital records. Each source proves only what its own record says, so an owner name does not prove occupancy and a court index hit does not prove that a namesake is the person sought.

Start with the strongest known clue. A street address points to the property roll. A lawsuit points to the trial-court index. A deceased relative points first to Probate, obituaries, and death evidence. No result is universal. A portal may cover only certain years, and an office may hold an older paper or microfilm series that the web search does not display.
Confirming Mobile County Namesakes
Common names create the largest risk in a Mobile County resident lookup. Search all plausible spellings, initials, former surnames, and corporate suffixes. Landmark itself warns users to try name variations. Historic handwriting and transcription can split one person across several forms. Dates should exclude bad matches, not merely decorate a result. Filing, recording, execution, and event dates describe different acts.
Require two independent anchors before joining records. A full name plus the same legal description is strong. A middle initial plus spouse or co-party may also help. A shared street alone may not. When a result remains uncertain, keep the records separate. The custodian can explain an index or issue a copy, but staff cannot decide which common-name party is the right person.
Insider tip. Search a person's name variants separately in Landmark Fraud Alert because one registration does not automatically monitor every spelling.
Mobile County Court Name Search
Just One Look provides paid, case-by-case access to Alabama trial-court records. Mobile Circuit Court covers civil, felony, domestic, support, juvenile, and appellate matters, while District Court covers district civil, small claims, misdemeanors, traffic, and preliminary matters. Municipal matters use the City of Mobile court, and Probate judicial files use a separate system. A single portal cannot replace all four custodians.
A public-terminal fallback is available at Government Plaza. The Circuit Criminal Division also accepts a record-search or copy form by mail or pickup. Its form asks for a case number or defendant plus identity details, the requested material, delivery choice, and certification choice. The researched fee sources conflict, so confirm current charges with the clerk before payment. Archived files can require a staff or microfilm search and may carry a nonrefundable search charge.
The following fields are useful when reading a result. They are evidence of a filing, not a verdict about the person.
- Party name and role
- Case number, division, and court
- Filing and docket activity dates
- Attorneys and available document images
- Disposition wording exactly as recorded
The Southern District of Alabama court site is the local gateway for federal matters. Its captured page illustrates the separate federal route.
Use PACER for federal party and case indexes, then use the district clerk's information for local rules and file access. Sealed material stays unavailable.
Mobile County Vital Record Checks
Alabama vital records carry sharply different access rules. Birth certificates stay restricted for 125 years and death certificates for 25 years under Ala. Code § 22-9A-21. Marriage and divorce certificates are nonconfidential under ADPH procedures. A state divorce certificate is a statistical record, not the court decree. The Mobile County Health Department can serve as a local channel for state certificates, while the Center for Health Statistics handles mail orders and specialized corrections.
Mobile Probate adds a deeper local marriage route. Landmark indexes Mobile County marriages from 1813 forward, and viewable certificate images begin in September 2019. For earlier family research, Probate's historic birth and death books and Mobile Public Library holdings may supply index evidence, but those sources do not change ADPH certification rules. Label an index, certificate, cemetery card, and directory entry as distinct forms of proof.
Can a resident lookup open an adoption case? No. Probate adoption cases remain closed. An Alabama adopted adult age 19 or older may instead use ADPH's official sealed-file procedure to request a noncertified original birth record and specified documents. Birth parents may file contact-preference and medical-history forms.
Verify a Mobile County Resident
A careful Mobile County resident lookup moves from a broad name to a record with fixed geography, then tests that match in an independent index. Ownership is not occupancy. A registered-agent address may be an office, and a tax mailing address may differ from the parcel's situs, meaning its physical location. Keep those labels intact.
- Search the Revenue Commission roll by owner name and note the parcel, situs, and separate tax-mailing address.
- Search Landmark under spelling variants. Match a deed's legal description and transaction date to the parcel.
- Check the appropriate court or voter route only when that record answers the question and the required identity details are known.
- Compare a spouse, co-party, middle initial, date, or address in a second official source.
- Order a certified copy from the custodian when formal proof, rather than an index clue, is needed.
- Docket
- The court's dated list of filings and actions in one case.
- Index vs image
- An index points to a record; an image displays the document itself and may require payment.
- Certified copy
- A copy authenticated by its custodian for uses that require official proof.
Mobile County Heir Connections
For an heir search, begin with the decedent's public probate estate and will records. A file may name a personal representative, devisee, heir, or other interested party. If no local estate appears, check death evidence, obituaries, burial sources, and Alabama's unclaimed-property search. The State Treasurer says its search and claim process is free. An executor or administrator may claim for an estate, while a surviving spouse or child may qualify in some no-estate cases.
Business and professional records can add a date or affiliation without proving residence. The Alabama business entity search supports entity name, entity number, officer or agent or incorporator, and reservation or registration ID routes. Profession-specific boards verify license number, type, status, issue or expiration information, with fields varying by board. Older corporation records from 1949 through 2010 may route to the Alabama Department of Archives and History.
For a former classmate, Mobile Public Library's digital yearbooks support keyword, Boolean, and exact-match searches. Confirm both school and year before linking a name to a Mobile County resident. Note: An affiliation address is a clue, not proof that the named person lived there.
Mobile County Voter Verification
My Voter Page confirms the querying voter's status, ballot status, polling place, and district details after an identity match. It is not a public street browser. Alabama does not register voters by party. The Mobile Board of Registrars handles registration and updates at 151 Government Street, Room 165, by phone at 251-574-8586, and in person during its posted weekday hours.
A full voter list is a different product governed by Ala. Code § 17-4-38 and ordered from the Secretary of State. The request can select county, city, or district scope. Public fields may include name, residence or mailing address, status, registration geography, and participation history. Participation says whether someone voted, never how. Protected addresses and sensitive identity fields are withheld. Mail, electronic order, and the Board of Registrars are the documented channels.
Special Alabama Resident Searches
Some questions require a purpose-built official tool. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Community Information Center provides separate missing-person, fugitive, and statutory registry searches. The registry supports geography modes such as name, city or town, county, ZIP, or radius, and its warning bars unlawful injury, harassment, or criminal misuse.
The ALEA Community Information Center capture shows why a general resident lookup should not blur these distinct resources.
Use court records for case disposition and the responsible agency for current status. A registry or custody result answers only the question defined by that official system.
Mobile County Lookup Fallbacks
When a portal stops short, contact the division that holds the named series. Probate lists Records at 251-574-6070, Recording at 251-574-6040, and Judicial at 251-574-6001. Circuit Civil can explain file access at 251-574-8420, while Criminal Division uses 251-574-8430. Municipal cases require the City of Mobile Municipal Court route rather than an assumption that Just One Look covers them.
For an identified existing county record, use the Mobile County request form under the Alabama Open Records Act. The 2026 form asks for a subject or property, date range, contact information, and a certification of permanent Alabama residency. The county may ask for identification. State-level or city records go to their own custodians. The best request is narrow: name the record series, date range, office, and preferred delivery. A failed web search never proves that no file exists.
Mobile County Lookup Privacy Limits
A Mobile County resident lookup cannot open sealed, juvenile, expunged, adoption, or otherwise confidential material. Alabama's Address Confidentiality Program protects qualifying victims. Protection-order addresses and phone numbers receive statutory protection, and defined public personnel may seek redaction of listed personal details. Voter-address protection also means no purchased roll is complete.
Corrections begin with the source. A case-caption error goes to the clerk. A property-roll issue goes to the Revenue Commission. Mobile Probate accepts qualifying DOB or SSN blocking and position-based redaction requests at 251-574-6043 or helpdesk@probate.mobilecountyal.gov. Removing a copied listing elsewhere does not change the official record, and correcting the official record does not automatically remove every copy.
Lawful use. A Mobile County resident lookup is for lawful personal research. Never use a record to stalk, harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
